Edward “Ted” W. Pike was born in Logan, Utah on May 27, 1924. He attended Utah
State University in 1942. His education was temporarily suspended when he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served as
a navigator in the 15th Air Force, stationed at Cerignola, Italy. After his service in World War II, he attended
University of Utah, and received a B.S. degree in 1948 and his LL.B law degree in 1949. While obtaining his LL.B.
(now called a “J.D.”), he was active in the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity.
Ted was recalled to active duty during the Korean conflict and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1952 as
navigator, administrative officer, and legal officer.

He was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1950 and has continued active Bar membership. He was
admitted to Idaho State Bar in 1952 and is an active member of the Idaho State Bar.
Ted has held several positions in his long career as an attorney including Prosecuting Attorney, Bonneville County,
Idaho (1955-1959); President of the 7th Judicial District Bar Association; service on various Idaho State Bar and
local bar committees; former Bonneville County, Idaho, Democratic Party chairman, and state committeeman; Professionalism
Award, Idaho State Bar and Eagle Rock Inns of Court, Idaho Falls Chapter. Ted has been a member in the American Bar
Association since 1955 and he continues to be an active member in the local bar association and Eagle Rock Inns of Court.
Ted’s former law firm affiliations include Albaugh, Smith & Pike, Idaho Falls, Idaho (1959-1987); Anderson,
Pike & Bush, Idaho Falls, Idaho (1987-1994); Pike & Smith, Idaho Falls, Idaho (1994 to date).
Ted has been an Idaho Supreme Court Certified Mediator since 1997. His practice areas include mediation; general trial
practice; employment law; construction law; real estate; probate; banking; and personal injury. He has been previously
retained as counsel for the Idaho Falls
Municipal Airport; private counsel for various contractors at the Department of Energy Nuclear Site; and outside trial
counsel for the Department of Energy at Idaho Falls. He was general counsel for Idaho Nuclear, Inc. for a number of
years.
Ted currently provides general counsel for several distinguished clients including the Bank of Idaho; former
V-1 Oil Co., Idaho Falls, and CEO S.H. Bennion; The Hartwell Corporation; The Idaho Company; and other corporate and
business clients.
In his spare time Ted enjoys music. He has been a licensed private pilot. He was formerly a member of the Am.
Fed. Musicians Local 104 and has been a percussionist for the Idaho Falls Symphony. Other hobbies include boating,
golf, travel and spending time with his wife, Alice, and children.
